California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, commonly known as Proposition 65, requires businesses to provide warnings regarding exposures to certain chemicals identified by the State of California as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Some Belava products, packaging materials, components, or manufacturing materials may contain or expose users to chemicals that are included on the Proposition 65 list. These substances may include, but are not limited to, wood dust, brass components, upholstery materials, packaging materials, or other chemicals commonly found in furniture, equipment, and consumer products.
As a result, certain Belava products may display the following warning:
⚠️ WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including wood dust and lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Belava provides Proposition 65 warnings in accordance with California law. The presence of a warning does not necessarily mean that a product will cause harm or that exposure exceeds applicable safety standards. Proposition 65 warning requirements are often based on California's specific regulatory thresholds, which may differ from those established by federal agencies or other states.
Because our products may be distributed throughout the United States and we do not always know the final destination of individual products at the time of manufacture or packaging, Proposition 65 warnings may appear on products shipped both within and outside of California.
